The Liberty Sisters

The Liberty Sisters sing the beautiful and cheerful close harmony swing and jazz of the 1930’s and ’40s with a repertoire including the popular songs Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, In the Mood, and Lullaby of Broadway.

On the home front this music was listened to in dance halls and concert halls, at the movies, sitting round the radio at home and at work where it was piped into factories. These tunes were also of great comfort to GIs and allied forces behind the lines. The shows put on for the troops by the hundreds of USO and ENSA performers in the European Theatre of Operations (and later the Pacific) represented a great link with home and the loved ones they had left behind.

The girls specialise in the best songs of the era, especially those made popular by The Andrews Sisters and Dame Vera Lynn, all sung in close harmony.
